Music & Arts Composition Workshops

A one of a kind program to launch in 2023
Postponed due to the pandemic

Creative skills enhancing lives and communities

Gain confidence in your own everyday creative thinking process
through unique, enlightening and fun activities

Fifteen years in the making, this one of a kind program is now open to music and non-music students of all ages, including adults and parent-child teams.  Ms. Beaudoin’s signature Music and Arts By and For Children program originally launched in 2004 exclusively for her piano students. Children as young as 5 years old, teenagers and a few adults took part in those classes since.
Simply conceived as constantly evolving "abstract applied arts and music theory," it continued on, producing elaborate multimedia projects, a multitude of artworks and over 100 original piano and chamber compositions, some recognized with awards.  It also lead to more mature music reading and piano performance.  New compositional skills and artistic mediums are introduced every year or two with themes usually linked to current events, thoughts or causes.  Taking a stand for the well-being of the environment has been a recurrent theme at the studio and remains so from 2018 to 2020.  All projects culminate with art exhibits and premieres of the compositions.  Since 2011, the program has reached other countries through special collaborations and connections (example below)
 instigated by Ms Beaudoin .
Reorganized in 2020 into a set of 4 sessions (16 classes), the interactive presentations and labs will guide students with not only diverse music and arts compositional tools but also small exercises examining creativity in its processes, obstacles and extensive applications.  The program and its ever changing creative journey is designed to be equally relevant and meaningful to students with or without prior studies in the arts and music.  It challenges barriers, such as self-doubt and the fear of the unknown.  It promotes the exchange of knowledge and ideas in a non-judgmental space.  It encourages students to explore and persevere.

 USA-Uganda: Creativity Beyond Borders
2013-2018
The studio created three exciting Music and Arts collaborations with TUBA: The Uganda-Baltimore Alliance's music students in Africa from 2013 to 2018. The first project consisted of a joint photography venture which led to an elaborate slideshow of photos taken  in the US and Uganda accompanied with arrangements of American film music Ms Beaudoin's students wrote and premiered themselves. The studio raised $400 which helped with the costs of installing electricity and finishing the ceiling of TUBA's new school, the Musana Music Center. The second project was about composing short melodies for trumpet, trombone and tuba. They were first written by Ms Beaudoin's students, then TUBA's senior band members added their musical thoughts to the scores. The third experiment was titled Shapes and Sounds. It resulted in cubistic drawings by Ms Beaudoin's students and two multitrack compositions, Sounds From America and Sounds From Africa, using a collection of sounds gathered in the US and Uganda.
